When I say “Oriental craft,” I don’t just mean objects from the East. I mean the spirit of making by hand — the careful shaping of clay, the slow weaving of fibers, the precise carving of wood, and the quiet beauty of materials formed by human hands.
Chinese handicrafts have been shaped by centuries of tradition. Many techniques have been passed down through generations, often within families or small communities. Today, these crafts are still alive because artisans continue to practice them, adapt them, and give them new meaning.
